These are general rider-height ranges. Rider comfort, experience, and confidence should also be considered.

How to Choose the Right Bike Size
Rider height is the easiest place to start. After height, consider how comfortable the rider is starting, stopping, steering, and controlling a bike.
A less experienced rider may feel more comfortable on the smaller option when their height overlaps two ranges.
A Good Rental Fit Should Let the Rider:
26 Inch Adult Beach Cruiser
General guide: about 5’2″ and taller
This is the standard SurfScooter adult rental size for most adults and taller teens.
24 Inch Bike
General guide: about 4’8″–5’4″
A useful option for shorter adults, teens, and older children who need something smaller than the full-size adult cruiser.
Choose the Bike the Child Can Control
For a vacation rental, comfort and control matter more than choosing a larger bike for a child to “grow into.”
16 Inch Kids Bike
About 3’5″–4’2″
For smaller children who are able to ride independently.
20 Inch Kids Bike
About 4’0″–4’8″
For younger riders who already have some riding confidence.
24 Inch Bike
About 4’8″–5’4″
For older kids, teens, and smaller adults.
Need Training Wheels?
SurfScooter also offers a 16 inch kids bike with training wheels. It uses the same general rider range of about 3’5″–4’2″ and is intended for beginner riders who still need additional support.
Trailers, Baby Seats & Tagalong Bikes
Younger passengers and children who are not ready to ride independently may be better suited to a passenger option.
Kids Trailer
For smaller children riding as passengers rather than controlling their own bike. Selection depends on the child’s size and the trailer’s limits.
Adams Tagalong
For a child who can pedal but still benefits from being connected to an adult bike. Fit depends on the rider and the Tagalong limits.
Adult Bike with Baby Seat
A 26 inch adult bike with an attached child passenger seat. The adult rider’s general range starts around 5’2″.
Use Riding Confidence as the Tiebreaker
Some height ranges overlap. That is intentional because height alone does not determine whether a rider will feel comfortable controlling a particular bike.
