North Beach is one of Seabrook Island’s two primary beach areas and is especially known for sunrise views, tidal pools, wildlife, and the northern end of the island near Captain Sam’s Inlet.
For many visitors, getting there by bike is part of the experience.
Plan the Ride From Your Rental
The exact route will depend on where you are staying. Rather than trying to follow one universal route, use Seabrook’s designated bike paths, suggested bike routes, and appropriate island roads to work toward your chosen beach access.
The official beach guide notes that visitors commonly bike or walk to beach access points from their neighborhoods.
Leave the Bike at the Boardwalk
Seabrook’s current access rules say bicycles should not be ridden on boardwalks.
Walk or park the bike as appropriate before crossing the beach access.
Give Wildlife Space
North Beach is an important wildlife area. Dolphins are sometimes observed near Captain Sam’s Inlet, and Seabrook’s beach rules require visitors to keep appropriate distance from wildlife and stay off the dunes.
A bicycle gives you an easy way to reach the beach without turning the trip into another car outing.
